Description
Marshal AUGEREAU Pierre
“The Proud Bandit”
October 21, 1757 (Paris) – June 12, 1816 (La Houssaye en Brie)
He distinguished himself by his bravery in the Vendée and the Pyrenees.
Napoleon said of him: “Augereau was incapable of behaving, he had no education or training, little breadth of mind, but he knew how to maintain order and discipline among his soldiers, he divided his columns well, placed his reserves well and fought fearlessly”.
